Keyhole surgery

Minimally invasive surgery with experience across every option

In minimally invasive surgery, fine instruments reach the operating area through small access points while a camera provides the view. The safest and most appropriate approach always depends on the individual finding.

What minimally invasive means

Unlike conventional open surgery, instruments are introduced through smaller incisions and the operating area is shown using a camera.

Smaller access points may reduce strain on surrounding tissue. Recovery still depends on the operation, findings and your general health.

Possible benefits of smaller access points

Where a minimally invasive procedure is medically appropriate, possible benefits may include:

  • Smaller incisions and scars
  • Less disruption of surrounding tissue
  • Potentially less pain after some procedures
  • Potentially faster recovery depending on the operation

The method is chosen individually

Minimally invasive is not automatically the best approach for every operation. Dr Dobra also has extensive experience in conventional open surgery. Benefits, limits and alternatives are explained during the consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Can every operation be minimally invasive?

No. Suitability depends on the diagnosis, extent of treatment and individual medical factors.

Does minimally invasive always mean outpatient?

No. It describes the surgical access, not the treatment setting. Some procedures are outpatient and others require hospital care.

Are open procedures also offered?

Yes. Dr Dobra has experience in both minimally invasive and conventional open techniques.

This information does not replace a personal examination or diagnosis. Treatment options are discussed individually during the consultation.
